Champion`s League Golf Weekend in Spain

Mary’s Champion League Golf Weekend 20th – 23rd May 2010

The Mary Leishman Foundation, in conjunction with Club De Golf La Peraleja, is organising a Celebrity AM golf tournament on the Costa Calida in Spain on Saturday 22nd May 2010. On this date the Final of the Champions League will be played in Madrid with the aim of combining the two events in the evening.

Flights

Flights will be arranged with Jet2 flying out of Edinburgh on Thursday 20th May departing at 11.20 arriving in Murcia at 15.35 returning from Murcia on the 23rd May at 20.05 arriving back in Edinburgh at 22.20. The cost of a return flight including 1 hold bag and 1 set of clubs will be £200.00
Transport to & from the hotel will be provided by the Foundation.

Accommodation

Rooms will be booked at the fantastic 4* Thalasia Hotel – further information can be found on the hotel at www.thalasiahotel.com. The tariff will be €60 per twin room per night which will be your responsibility to pay direct to the hotel on your arrival.
Club De Golf La Peraleja:

The format of the Golf Tournament will be as follows:-

Players will be transported to & from the course from the hotel.
Each team will consist of 3 players to which a Celebrity will be added.
Jim Leishman will play the Par 3 9th with every team as they progress
Shotgun start at 9.30am.
The winning team will have the best combined stableford score with the best 2 scores at each hole contributing to the team score.
Individual stableford competition
Every player will receive a present commemorating the event
Snacks will be provided between the 9th & 10th hole
Complimentary Spanish wine will be served in the clubhouse on completion of the round.
The cost of entering a team will be €600 / £600 – Individual players may be accommodated at a cost of €200 / £200 subject to availability

Champions League Prizegiving Dinner

Each participating golfer will be asked to attend the Prize giving 4 course dinner in the evening at the Thalasia Hotel. The cost of attending the dinner is included for all participating golfers. Any non-golfers wishing to attend will be charged €40

2nd Prize Team: Trophy & present
3rd Prize Team: Trophy & present
1st Prize Individual: Trophy & present
2nd Prize Individual: Trophy & present
3rd Prize Individual: Trophy & present
Nearest the pin at the 2nd hole
Nearest the pin at the 12th hole
Longest drive at the 4th
Longest drive at the 18th


Following the prize giving & meal TV coverage will be shown of the Champions League Final during which a panel of players who played at that level will provide their comments and also be available for a question & answer session.
After dinner entertainment
Auction & Raffle with some unique prizes from the world of Football & Golf.

Extras

On the Friday and Sunday there may be a possibility, subject to course availability of golf at La Peraleja . Many other courses are available to be played within close proximity to the hotel, this can be arranged at extra cost if required.
